This past weekend, we were blessed with beautiful weather. Finally, a break from the ice, snow and cold. It’s supposed to get cold again this week, but at least we had a touch of spring to carry us over!
JJ turns 1 on the 25th and the Mr. and I decided to invite some of JJ’s close friends over to celebrate. I baked a cake for JJ, packed doggie bags for both the humans and furry friends, and set out some pictures of our boy’s first year.
JJ had so much fun at his birthday paw-ty. Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated!
In celebration of my new job, the Mr and me took a quick trip out to San Francisco last week. Last year, we took a quick weekend trip out to Napa/San Francisco, but there was not enough time to fully enjoy either place. We stayed mostly in the city this time, and we were able to do a mixture of touristy things as well as wander around with no plans. We were blessed with beautiful weather – a nice break from the cold weather in Kansas City.

We had amazing meals, walked many miles each day, and came home refreshed and ready to tackle February in KC. Plus we were so happy to come home to this face:
I have to admit it. I am a terrible blogger. I have grand ideas about posting once a week. I refuse to delete the reminder email from Word Press. But I guess the best way to get started, is to start typing.
A lot has happened since January 1st. I interviewed successfully for a new job, which I start in a week and a half. I began photography lessons (more on that later) and the mr and I had our engagement party. Let’s start with the latter.
My aunt and grandma threw a beautiful engagement party for us a week ago. It was great to celebrate with friends and family as we begin our married lives together this year.
the happy couple 🙂
We are so thankful to have such wonderful people in our lives. We couldn’t be more excited for everything else that is in store this year.
Next post – more details on photography 101.
Cheers and Happy New Year!
I am so excited for 2014 for so many reasons.
I am marrying the love of my life in December, which means lots of time with loved ones as we celebrate all year long with wedding parties. With that, I am excited to share this year with my friends and family – we will have so many reasons to get together and visit!
My cousin is having a little girl in May and I cannot wait to meet the little lady. She is already so loved and I can’t wait to see how she changes the world.
I am excited to try out more recipes, eat at new restaurants, travel to new places, and make more upgrades to our home in Kansas City.
I am excited to celebrate my puppy’s birthday in February, take him to dog parks, and walk him more frequently (once the chill of winter is gone!).
I am excited to share my life with you and I hope you enjoy the ride!
Cheers and Best Wishes –
